How to Get to Lenggong

Lenggong is best reached by road from Penang, Ipoh or Alor Setar. Fly into Penang or Kuala Lumpur and continue by car or bus; trains only get you to nearby hubs, not into town directly.

By Air

Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (AOR) / Alor Setar and Penang International Airport (PEN): Lenggong (Perak) does not have a nearby commercial airport; the closest commonly used airports are Penang (PEN) and Sultan Abdul Halim/Alor Setar for northern access. From Penang the drive to Lenggong is roughly 2.5-3 hours by car; from Alor Setar it is shorter but still over an hour and a half.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL): KUL is Malaysia’s main international gateway-overland travel to Lenggong is long (several hours) so consider a domestic flight or train to a nearer hub then continue by road.

By Train & Bus

Train: KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu) services reach stations such as Batu Gajah or Kuala Kangsar, but there is no rail line directly into Lenggong. From the nearest KTM stations travellers usually take a taxi or bus for the final leg.

Bus: Regional buses and express coaches operate from larger towns (Ipoh, Taiping) toward Lenggong and its district. Local buses and minivan services provide the last-mile connection; schedules are less frequent than to major cities, so check local timetables or arrange transport in advance.
