How to Get to Kota Biak
Kota Biak is served by Mokmer Airport (BIK) with short road transfers into town; there is no rail network and inter-island travel relies on boats. Local movement is by taxi, shared minibus (bemo) and boat for island hops.
Mokmer Airport (BIK): Mokmer Airport on Biak Island is the main gateway to Kota Biak. Taxis and shared minibuses from the airport to Biak town take about 10-25 minutes; fares typically range from 30,000-80,000 IDR depending on vehicle and number of passengers.
Via Jayapura (Sentani, DJJ): Many flights to Biak are routed through Jayapura (Sentani Airport) with onward domestic flights to Biak. Check schedules as connections can be limited and seasonal.
Train: There is no rail service on Biak Island.
