Ko Lamphu is a small river island park in the Tapi River at the heart of Surat Thani city in southern Thailand. It is maintained as a municipal green space and recreational area adjacent to the city centre.

The island contains open lawns, shaded trees, playground equipment and riverside walking paths that are used for picnics, exercise and casual gatherings. A short pedestrian connection links the island to the riverbank and downtown Surat Thani.

The site is managed by local municipal authorities as part of the city’s riverfront public space and is used for community recreation and occasional local events. It functions as an urban park rather than a developed tourist resort.

Ko Lamphu sits on the Tapi River immediately beside Surat Thani’s central urban area, within easy walking distance of the city’s river piers and downtown amenities.

Ko Lamphu is a short walk from Surat Thani Railway Station (about 15-20 minutes) or a 5-10 minute tuk-tuk ride from downtown Surat Thani. The island is connected to the riverbanks by a pedestrian bridge and lies adjacent to the city’s central riverfront area.

• Arrive by late afternoon to join the local riverside promenades and watch the sun on the Tapi River; an evening stroll offers the liveliest atmosphere.
• The island is small; access is by a footbridge and it's easiest to park or arrive at Surat Thani Railway Station then walk about 15-20 minutes.
• Bring small change if buying snacks from street vendors near the bridge - they sometimes only accept cash.
