Mafia Island Airport (MFA): Kilindoni is served by Mafia Island Airport, with scheduled domestic flights from Dar es Salaam (Julius Nyerere International, DAR) operated by small domestic carriers. Flight time from Dar is short (about 20-30 minutes); on arrival in Kilindoni you are a short drive from town.

Bus / Ferry: From Dar es Salaam travellers can take a ferry or boat to Kilindoni - schedule and operators vary (passenger ferries and private boats). On the mainland, buses and dala-dalas serve routes to ports where boats to Mafia depart; check current local schedules as services are irregular.
