Khedive's Palace

Khedive’s Palace (Hıdiv Kasrı) is an early 20th-century waterfront palace on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus in Istanbul’s Beykoz district, built for Khedive Abbas II of Egypt. The complex includes an ornate mansion, terraces and landscaped gardens overlooking the strait.

The palace’s architectural style mixes Ottoman and European influences, with richly decorated reception rooms and period interior details. The gardens and waterfront terraces form an important part of the visitor experience, providing views across the Bosphorus and access to the shoreline.

Built as a summer residence for the Khedive in the early 1900s, the site later served various official and cultural functions and has been subject to restoration and adaptive reuse for public visits. It is now managed as a historical site with visitor access to parts of the palace and grounds.

The palace sits on the Asian side of Istanbul along the Bosphorus, in Beykoz, surrounded by wooded hills and residential areas, with ferries and road links connecting it to other parts of the city.
