Karujärv is a lake located in Saare County, Estonia, within the Baltic region. It is one of the many small inland lakes that occur on the island of Saaremaa and in the surrounding county.

The lake forms part of the local freshwater landscape and contributes to regional biodiversity and local drainage. It is typical of Saare County’s lake features in size and setting.

How to Get to Karujärv

Karujärv lies on Saaremaa island; the nearest town with regular services is Kuressaare. From Kuressaare drive on local Saaremaa roads roughly 20-25 km to the lake (allow 20-40 minutes depending on the route); park by the roadside and reach the shore on a short walk. Public buses on Saaremaa run between Kuressaare and nearby villages, but services are infrequent - if using public transport check local timetables for the nearest stop and expect a walk of up to a few kilometres from the bus stop to the lake.
