How to Get to Kapan
Kapan in Syunik Province is reached mainly overland from Yerevan (after arriving at Zvartnots). The journey involves several hours on mountain roads; marshrutkas and intercity buses are the common options, with private hire for more comfort.
Zvartnots International Airport - Yerevan (EVN): Kapan (in Syunik Province) is normally reached by overland travel from Yerevan after arrival at Zvartnots (EVN). Domestic flights to Kapan are not part of regular scheduled international services; the preferred route is by road or occasional domestic connections.
Goris/Regional access: For travel to Kapan some visitors use domestic road links via Goris; regional road travel times are several hours and depend on mountain road conditions.
Train: Armenia’s passenger rail network does not provide practical service to Kapan.
