About Kaniv Reservoir#

Kaniv Reservoir is an impoundment on the Dnipro River in central Ukraine, created by a hydroelectric dam and forming a broad lake used for power generation, navigation and local water use. It lies within Kyiv Oblast and stretches along the river upstream of the dam.

The reservoir has altered the river’s flow and created shoreline and island features used for fisheries and recreation; it is part of the Dnipro cascade of reservoirs that serve energy and water-management needs in the region.
