Tips for Visiting Kalandula Falls #

  • Visit during Angola's high‑water season (roughly November-April) if you want the falls at their fullest; check local road and weather reports first because heavy rains can affect access.
  • Arrange transport and a local guide from Malanje - the roads to Kalandula can be rough and 4x4 transport or a tour operator will make access and viewing points much easier.
  • Combine a visit with Pungo Andongo (the Black Rocks) near Malanje when arranging logistics, as both are commonly visited from the same regional base.

Best Time to Visit Kalandula Falls #

Visit during the wet season (roughly Nov-Apr) for the most powerful views of the falls, or in the dry season for easier access.

Wet season (best flow)
Nov-Apr · 22-30°C
Waterfalls are at their fullest and most dramatic after rains, though access roads can be muddy and more difficult.
Dry season (easier access)
