Calandula Area
In north-central Angola, the Calandula waterfalls form wide tiers over basalt; visitors come to view falls, walk rim trails and photograph the gorge.

- For the falls (Kalandula/Calandula), aim to visit during or shortly after the rainy season when river flow and cascades are at their fullest for best views and photos.
- Allow extra travel time from Malanje-roads to the site can be rough and local transport schedules change, so arrange transfer or a local driver in advance and check recent road conditions.
- Don't just view from the top viewpoint: walk the marked lower viewpoints and riverside edges where permitted to get different perspectives on the multi‑tiered drop, but respect fenced or restricted areas for safety.
