About Kaivopuisto#
Kaivopuisto (Kaivari) is a prominent seaside park in southern Helsinki, dating from the 19th century and known for its open lawns, promenades and coastal outlooks. It is one of the city’s best-known public green spaces.
Developed in the 19th century as a landscaped recreational area for the city, Kaivopuisto has long been connected with Helsinki’s seaside leisure culture and has retained much of its open-park character.
Positioned on the southern shore of central Helsinki, the park lies close to the city centre, the embassy quarter and ferry terminals that serve nearby islands and Suomenlinna.
