Jonava is a short rail or road hop from Kaunas and Vilnius; Kaunas Airport is the nearest airport. Regional trains and frequent buses make Jonava easy to reach for a day visit or short stay.
Kaunas Airport (KUN): The closest airport to Jonava. From KUN take a shuttle or bus to Kaunas centre (about €3-5, ~20-30 minutes) and then an intercity train or bus to Jonava (see card 2). Taxi to Kaunas city centre costs roughly €12-20.
Vilnius Airport (VNO): Also convenient - from VNO take bus or shuttle to Vilnius central station (~€1.50, ~25-35 minutes) and then a regional train or bus to Jonava; total travel time is usually 1-1.5 hours from Vilnius.
Train: Jonava has a railway station on regional lines; trains from Kaunas to Jonava take roughly 20-30 minutes and are affordable (typical fares about €1-3). Check Lietuvos geležinkeliai timetables as services are fairly regular for commuters.
Bus: Intercity buses connect Jonava with Kaunas and Vilnius; buses depart from Kaunas and Vilnius bus stations with fares around €1.50-4 and journey times of 30-60 minutes depending on origin.
