Jimmy Carter Library and Museum

The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum is the presidential library for Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, and is located in Atlanta, Georgia. It houses archival records, exhibits and educational displays related to his administration and public service.

Exhibition galleries present documents, photographs and objects from Carter’s presidency and his subsequent humanitarian work, including displays about elections, diplomacy and human rights. The site also provides research facilities for scholars and preserves presidential records.

Established to preserve the papers and public legacy of Jimmy Carter, the library opened as part of the presidential library system and has since hosted rotating exhibits, public lectures and archival research services.

Located in Atlanta along Freedom Parkway near the Carter Center, the complex sits east of downtown and is accessible by car and public transportation from the city center.
