The Jedars are a group of large prehistoric and late-antiquity funerary monuments near Tiaret in northwestern Algeria. They consist of massive stone-built tombs and mausoleums with raised platforms and stepped or pyramidal superstructures, associated with local Berber rulers.
The monuments were constructed in Late Antiquity and show a mixture of indigenous North African and Mediterranean construction influences. Over time many were looted and partially collapsed; archaeological work and recording have documented inscriptions and architectural fragments.
The site lies on the plateau region around Tiaret in Tiaret Province, set amid agricultural and semi-arid landscapes of northwestern Algeria.
