Jailolo is a coastal town on the western side of Halmahera Island in North Maluku province, Indonesia. Historically it was the center of the Sultanate of Jailolo and remains a local market and port town serving nearby islands and coastal communities.
The settlement occupies a bay and provides maritime access to surrounding reefs and smaller islands; local life is centered on fishing, markets, and small-scale trade. The town functions as a regional hub for transport and services on this part of Halmahera.
Geographically Jailolo sits on Jailolo Bay on Halmahera’s west coast, within North Maluku province, and forms part of the island’s western coastal settlements.
