Inveraray Castle is an 18th-century country house on the shores of Loch Fyne in Argyll, western Scotland and serves as the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Argyll. It is a castellated mansion set within formal grounds and remains a lived-in family home.

The house offers guided tours of its principal rooms and displays of family collections, furniture and portraiture; visits are typically seasonal with heightened activity in summer. The castle grounds include formal gardens and a walled kitchen garden that are accessible to visitors, and lochside views from the nearby town are a common photographic spot.

The current castellated house was built in stages from the 18th century onward for the Campbell family and has seen later 19th-century modifications and restorations. It has always served as the Campbell family seat and combines domestic living spaces with state rooms created for public display.

The castle stands on the western shore of Loch Fyne in the village of Inveraray, roughly a two-hour drive northwest of Glasgow, set against a coastal loch landscape with surrounding hills.

• Family residence: The castle remains the ancestral home of the Dukes of Argyll and is still a private family residence, so some areas are closed to the public.
• Best viewpoints: Photographs from the lochside and the town of Inveraray provide the best views of the castellated facade and its setting on Loch Fyne.

Inveraray is about 70 miles northwest of Glasgow. From Glasgow take the A82 toward Loch Lomond, then A83/A815; driving takes about 1.5-2 hours. Buses run from Glasgow to Inveraray but schedules are limited; driving is recommended.
