How to Get to Ifaty
Ifaty is a coastal village on Madagascar’s southwest coast near Toliara (Tuléar). By road it lies along the coastal route north of Toliara-roughly 25-30 km from Toliara-so most visitors reach Ifaty by taxi, private car or local bush taxi (taxi‑brousse) from Toliara; the drive typically takes around 30-60 minutes depending on road conditions.

- Plan a guided visit to the Reniala (spiny forest) reserve in or near Ifaty-local guides are best for finding endemic birds and for interpreting the iconic baobabs, especially at dawn or late afternoon.
