Hyde Park, Sydney

Hyde Park is a central public park in the Sydney central business district and is recognised as the oldest public parkland in Australia, with origins dating to the early 19th century.

The park contains broad lawns and tree-lined avenues running roughly north-south through the CBD, with formal paths, benches and planted beds. Key monuments include the ANZAC Memorial at the southern end and the Archibald Fountain toward the north; the park is used for ceremonies, informal recreation and city events.
