The Hoggar Mountains (also called the Ahaggar) are a highland volcanic range in southern Algeria in Tamanrasset Province, notable for Mount Tahat, the highest peak at 2,918 metres. The range rises sharply from the central Sahara and is a prominent geographical feature of southern Algeria.
The area is valued for its dramatic rocky massifs, deep gorges and high plateaus rather than lush vegetation. How to Get to Hoggar Mountains
The Hoggar (Ahaggar) Mountains are accessed from the southern Algerian city of Tamanrasset.
