History Museum of Armenia

The History Museum of Armenia is the national institution in Yerevan that collects, studies and displays archaeological, historical and ethnographic material from across Armenian history. The museum’s core collections document ancient civilizations, medieval kingdoms and later historical periods.

Exhibits present archaeological finds, ceramics, metalwork, religious objects and historical documents arranged to show cultural and chronological developments in the region. Display galleries include objects from archaeological excavations and material illustrating social and economic life.

The museum was established in the early 20th century and its collections expanded through archaeological research and state acquisitions during the 20th century. It has been housed in the central Republic Square complex alongside the National Gallery since the Soviet period.
