High Roller (Ferris wheel)
Amusement Park Giant observation wheel on Las Vegas Strip
On the Las Vegas Strip, the High Roller observation wheel runs enclosed cabins with views across the Strip and city; visitors ride for panoramas, especially at dusk.
The High Roller is a large observation wheel on the Las Vegas Strip in Nevada, located at the LINQ Promenade. It opened in 2014 and is a prominent part of the Strip skyline due to its height and location.
Riders experience panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding valley from 167.6 metres above ground, with one revolution typically lasting around 30 minutes. The wheel’s 28 enclosed cabins are air-conditioned and used for daytime sightseeing as well as nighttime illumination views of the city.
Conceived as a major observation attraction on the Strip, the High Roller was completed and opened in March 2014 as part of a redevelopment of the LINQ area. It has since operated as a commercial attraction offering standard rides, private cabins and special events.
Sited on the Las Vegas Strip at the LINQ Promenade, the wheel sits between the Flamingo and Caesars Palace complexes and is immediately adjacent to pedestrian retail and entertainment areas.
- Height: Stands 167.6 metres (550 feet) tall and was the tallest observation wheel in the world at its opening in 2014.
- Cabins and ride time: Contains 28 glass-enclosed, climate-controlled cabins that rotate slowly - a full revolution takes about 30 minutes - and each cabin holds up to 40 passengers.
