The Hexagon Pool is a natural plunge pool formed among columnar basalt hexagonal columns in the northern Golan Heights. It is a distinctive geological feature within a regional nature reserve.
The pool and surrounding basalt formations formed through the cooling and contraction of volcanic lava flows that produced columnar jointing. The site has been protected and incorporated into the regional nature reserve to preserve both geology and local habitat.
The Hexagon Pool lies in the northern Golan Heights within the Yehudiya Nature Reserve, in Israel’s upper Jordan Valley region.
