Herzogenbusch concentration camp

Herzogenbusch concentration camp, commonly known as Kamp Vught, was a Nazi concentration and transit camp in the occupied Netherlands during World War II. The site now functions as a memorial and museum documenting the camp’s history and victims.

Exhibitions explain the camp’s operation, prisoner life and deportations, and preserved camp buildings and foundations provide a tangible sense of the layout. Interpretive trails, a museum, and a national memorial area are used for education and commemoration.

Operated by the SS during the German occupation, the camp served as a detention, transit and forced-labour facility for political prisoners, Jews and resistance members; many detainees were later deported to other camps. After the war the site evolved into a place of documentation, research and public remembrance.

The former camp lies near the town of Vught in the province of North Brabant, south of ‘s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) in the Netherlands.
