Hell’s Gate National Park is a compact protected area in the Rift Valley of Kenya known for its steep gorges, towering cliffs and geothermal activity. It is popular for day visits from Nairobi.
The landscape is characterized by narrow gorges, volcanic plugs and red-rock cliffs that are accessible for walking, rock climbing and cycling. Wildlife is present but the park is especially valued for its geological scenery and opportunities for close-up outdoor recreation.

Hell’s Gate is about 90 km northwest of Nairobi and 10 km south of Naivasha town. From Nairobi take the A104 toward Nakuru and turn off near Mai Mahiu toward Naivasha; the park is a short drive from Naivasha town. Local operators in Naivasha and Nairobi offer cycling and guided hiking packages.
