Hallyeohaesang National Park

Hallyeohaesang National Park is a coastal and marine national park in South Gyeongsang Province on South Korea’s southern coast, protecting a large archipelago and adjacent sea. It is designated to conserve the region’s island-dominated coastline and marine landscapes.

The park contains hundreds of islands and rocky islets with steep cliffs, sheltered bays and coastal trails. Popular activities include short hikes to cliff-top viewpoints, boat tours between islands, and sea kayaking in the park’s sheltered waterways. Many visitors use local ports such as Tongyeong as bases for island excursions and lookouts.

The area is managed for conservation and recreation by Korea’s national park authorities, and maritime access and facilities have been developed to support day trips and guided tours. Facilities, trail maintenance and boat services vary by season and by the island or mainland access point.

The park sits along the southern coastline of South Korea in South Gyeongsang Province, encompassing islands and shorelines near Tongyeong, Geoje and Namhae. Access is primarily via coastal towns with ferry and boat services to the islands.
