About Gurre Castle#

Medieval castle ruins located in North Zealand in the Capital Region of Denmark near the village of Gurre. The site consists of fragmentary masonry on a small hill beside a lake and is primarily of archaeological and scenic interest.

Visitors inspect visible ruins, short trails and viewpoints that overlook Gurre Lake and surrounding woodland; there are no extensive visitor facilities at the site. The monument is relatively small in scale compared with larger Danish castles but is notable as a local historic ruin.
