A mountain in Hesse, Germany, that is the highest summit of the Taunus range at 878 metres above sea level. It is a well-known local landmark and recreational area for the surrounding region.
Trails and minor paths lead to the summit from several directions and the area is used for hiking, winter walking, and cycling. The summit area provides open viewpoints over the surrounding Taunus hills and, on clear days, towards the Rhine-Main plain and the skyline of Frankfurt.
The hill has long been used as a local recreation destination and features infrastructure for visitors such as marked trails, picnic areas, and small service facilities at or near the top. Its modern recreational use developed with the growth of nearby urban areas in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Situated in Hesse, it lies northwest of Frankfurt and is reachable by regional roads from towns and commuter links in the Rhine-Main area.

Public transit to the region is available by regional buses and rail to major valley towns, then taxi to trailheads.

- The normal ascent requires glacier travel; go with a trained guide unless experienced with crevasse rescue.
- Start early - weather in the Silvretta region can change rapidly in the afternoon.
- Take the trail from the Litzner Hut (Litznerhütte) for the standard route; the hut provides the most convenient overnight staging point.
