Great Karimun (commonly Karimun Besar) is the largest island in the Karimun group in Indonesia’s Riau Islands province. It sits in the waterways between Sumatra, Batam and the Singapore Strait.

How to Get to Great Karimun #
Ferries connect Great Karimun (Tanjung Balai Karimun) with Batam and Singapore (Tanah Merah/Tanjong Belanak services have run historically). From Batam, take a ferry from Batam Centre; from Singapore, ferries depart from Tanah Merah ferry terminal-check schedules and visa requirements. On-arrival local transport is by ojeks (motorcycle taxis), small taxis, or hired boats for island excursions.
