How to Get to Granvinsvatnet

Granvinsvatnet is reached by road from Vossevangen (Voss) - roughly a 30-40 minute drive west along fylkesvei (county roads), following signs for Granvin. From the Hardangerfjord side, take the ferry routes that connect to nearby fjord roads then drive inland. There is limited public bus service from Voss; check local timetables (Skyss) for seasonal frequency.

  • Walk the full lakeshore path on the quieter east side for reflections and fewer people.
  • Bring binoculars in spring for migrant birds; the reed beds hide warblers.
  • If cycling, follow county road Fv7 south from Granvin and park at marked lay-bys; the shoulder can be narrow.
