Grande Rivière du Nord is most easily reached via Cap-Haïtien (CAP) for north-Haiti access, or by road from Port-au-Prince (PAP) for longer overland journeys. Expect most arrivals to require a taxi or shared local transport for the final leg - there is no rail service.
Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP): Cap-Haïtien is the closest international gateway for Grande Rivière du Nord. By road it’s typically a 30-45 minute drive (≈25-40 km); taxis and private transfers are the usual option - expect roughly HTG 1,500-2,500 (≈US$15-25) and about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
Toussaint Louverture International Airport, Port-au-Prince (PAP): Port-au-Prince is Haiti’s largest airport and lies much farther south.
