Gitgit Waterfall

Gitgit Waterfall is a freshwater cascade in northern Bali set in a forested stream valley and known for its accessible primary fall and visitor pathways. The site is a popular natural attraction for day trips from other parts of the island.

A short trail leads from the roadside entrance down to viewing platforms and the splash pool at the base of the main cascade; additional smaller falls and viewpoints lie upstream. Visitors commonly combine the waterfall stop with other northern Bali attractions such as coastal towns and mountain lakes.

The falls have long been a local tourism site and are managed for visitor access with steps and safety railings on the main approach. Seasonal flow varies with Bali’s wet and dry seasons, so stream volume increases during the rainy months.

Gitgit lies in the island’s northern interior, within reasonable driving distance of the port town of Singaraja and the central mountain and lake districts; it is typically reached by road from central or southern Bali.
