Oslo Gardermoen (OSL): The main international gateway for eastern Norway. From OSL you can take the Vy (formerly NSB) train from Oslo Sentralstasjon to Geilo; total door-to-door time (airport → Oslo → train) is about 3.5-4.5 hours; train fares vary widely but typical advance fares are NOK 300-600 (≈€25-55).
Bergen Airport, Flesland (BGO): Bergen is the nearest west-coast airport with rail access to Geilo on the Bergen-Oslo line. The Bergen-Geilo train takes about 3-3.5 hours; fares typically range NOK 200-500 depending on advance booking (≈€18-45). Taxi or bus transfers to/from the airport to Bergen station add ~30 minutes and NOK 150-300.
Train: Geilo has its own station (Geilo stasjon) on the Bergen-Oslo railway operated by Vy. Trains from Oslo take ~3 h 45 min and from Bergen ~3 h; fares vary with advance purchase but expect roughly NOK 200-600 depending on class and time.
Bus: Local bus services and airport coaches connect Geilo with nearby towns and airports in low season. Buses are useful for short regional hops (under 1-2 hours) and fares are generally NOK 50-200 depending on distance.
