Gantry Plaza State Park

Gantry Plaza State Park is a waterfront state park in Long Island City, Queens, preserving historic industrial gantries and providing riverfront open space along the East River. The park occupies about 12 acres of former dock and industrial land.

Park features include a waterfront esplanade, lawns and seating areas, a playground and fishing spots, along with restored steel gantries that frame views of Midtown Manhattan. The site is well known for its skyline vistas and the large Pepsi-Cola sign located on the waterfront.

The park sits on a former industrial pier and dock complex; the gantries and piers date to the site’s commercial waterfront era and were incorporated into the park layout during redevelopment beginning in the 1990s. The design preserves industrial elements while creating public recreation space.

Located in Long Island City on the Queens shoreline of the East River, the park is directly across the river from Midtown Manhattan and is accessed from local streets and the nearby public transit network.
