Gangabal Lake is a high-altitude freshwater lake in the Kashmir region of India, situated at the foot of the Harmukh massif. It is a well-known destination for trekkers and local pilgrims.
The lake and surrounding valleys have long been used seasonally by pastoralists and as pilgrimage destinations, with trails connecting to historic settlements such as Naranag. Modern trekking and pilgrimage use have continued these traditional patterns.
Lies in the Ganderbal/Naranag area of the Kashmir Himalaya, at high elevation on the slopes of Mount Harmukh in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
