How to Get to Frigiliana#
Frigiliana is a whitewashed village in the hills above Nerja on Spain’s Costa Tropical. The usual route is Málaga Airport → Málaga city → ALSA bus to Nerja → short bus or taxi up to Frigiliana.
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP): AGP is the main airport for visiting Frigiliana. From the airport take the Málaga Airport Express bus (line A) or local bus to Málaga city centre (about 15-25 minutes, fare approx. €3). From Málaga bus station (Estación de Autobuses) take an ALSA bus to Nerja (about 1-1.25 hours, fares typically €4-€6). From Nerja take a local bus or taxi up the hill to Frigiliana (about 10-15 minutes; taxi roughly €10-€15).
Granada Airport (GRX): Granada is an alternative when flights match better; from Granada take an ALSA bus or train to Málaga or direct services toward Almuñécar/Nerja and then a short taxi/bus to Frigiliana. Total travel times are longer (commonly 2-3 hours) but can be useful depending on schedules.
Train: There is no direct train to Frigiliana; the nearest rail access is Málaga María Zambrano station. From Málaga, continue by ALSA bus to Nerja then local bus/taxi to Frigiliana. Train plus bus combinations are common for travellers arriving by rail into Málaga.
Bus: ALSA operates regular services Málaga ↔ Nerja (around 1-1.25 hours). Local bus lines operate between Nerja and Frigiliana; schedules are more frequent in daytime and during tourist season. Taxis are a quick alternative for the uphill transfer.
