FNB Stadium, commonly known as Soccer City, is a multi-purpose stadium located on the southwestern edge of Johannesburg near Soweto. It is South Africa’s largest stadium and the primary venue for large football matches, national events and major concerts.

The stadium features a distinctive domed, bowl-shaped exterior and extensive spectator facilities designed for high-capacity events. It underwent large-scale renovation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and has been used for major sporting finals and national ceremonies.

Originally opened in the late 20th century, the venue was redeveloped ahead of the 2010 World Cup to meet international competition standards. Since renovation it has hosted international football matches, concerts and national gatherings, serving as a central sporting landmark in Johannesburg.

Located in the Nasrec area southwest of central Johannesburg, the stadium lies close to major transport routes and event infrastructure serving the metropolitan area.

FNB Stadium (Soccer City) is located in the Nasrec area of Johannesburg near the Johannesburg Expo Centre and adjacent to the N1 highway. It is about 15 km southwest of Johannesburg CBD - typically a 20-40 minute drive depending on traffic. On event days there are dedicated shuttle and bus services and plenty of minibus taxis serving Soweto and surrounding suburbs; by private car follow the N1/N12 southern corridors to the Nasrec/Expo Centre exits.

• Arrive well before kick‑off or show‑time to clear the stadium's security checks and to avoid the worst of match‑day traffic and controlled road closures around the venue.
• Follow the event organiser's official transport advice and use designated park‑and‑ride or shuttle services on big event days rather than trying to find street parking-these services are usually organized for large crowds and reduce delays.
• Have your ticket barcode ready on your phone and check the stadium's prohibited items list in advance; turnstines and bag checks are enforced strictly at large events.
