How to Get to Flic-en-Flac#

Flic‑en‑Flac is on Mauritius’s west coast; most travellers arrive via Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU) near Port Louis and continue overland. Public buses are cheap and frequent; taxis or private transfers are faster and more convenient if you have luggage or tight timing.

By Air

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Int. (MRU): The main international gateway for Mauritius, MRU (near Port Louis) is about 1-1.5 hours’ drive from Flic‑en‑Flac. Shared airport shuttles/minibuses to the west coast commonly charge around 600-900 MUR per person and take roughly 1-1.5 hours depending on stops. A private taxi from the airport to Flic‑en‑Flac typically costs 1,500-2,500 MUR and takes about 1-1.25 hours; fixed-price transfers can be booked in advance.

Plaine Corail / Rodrigues flights: There are separate services to Rodrigues (if arriving via Rodrigues you will still connect through MRU); onward transfer options from MRU apply as above.

By Train & Bus

Train: Mauritius does not have a regular national passenger rail service; there is no train option to Flic‑en‑Flac.

Bus: Intercity and local buses (run by National Transport Corporation and private operators) connect Port Louis, Quatre Bornes and other towns with Flic‑en‑Flac.
