Flavia Solva

Flavia Solva is the site of a Roman town in present-day Styria, Austria, located near the modern communities of Wagna and Leibnitz. It originated in the Roman period as a municipium and later became a focus for regional settlement and trade.

Visitors can see surface ruins and plan outlines for streets and buildings in an archaeological park, and a local museum presents finds such as pottery, inscriptions and building fragments recovered during excavations. The visible remains and museum exhibits document the urban footprint and material culture of the Roman settlement.

Established in the early Roman imperial period, Flavia Solva developed under Roman administration and functioned as a local hub in the province of Noricum. The town declined in late antiquity and its remains were partially buried and later investigated by archaeologists from the 19th century onward.

The site lies near Wagna and Leibnitz in the Mur valley region of Styria, Austria, roughly south-west of the city of Graz and adjacent to agricultural land on the Styrian plain.
