Fateh Sagar Lake

Fateh Sagar Lake is a man-made lake north of central Udaipur in Rajasthan, India, forming part of the city’s interconnected lakes. It is a major recreational and scenic feature of Udaipur with multiple islands.

The lake offers boat trips to its islands, lakeside promenades and viewpoints popular at sunset, and landscaped parkland on one island. One island hosts a solar observatory, and the lakeshore is lined with cafés and walking routes used by residents and tourists.

Named for Maharana Fateh Singh, the lake was modified and expanded during the 19th century as part of the city’s water-management and urban works; it has since been maintained as both a reservoir and a public amenity.

Located immediately north of Udaipur’s city centre in southern Rajasthan, the lake lies within the low Aravalli foothills and is directly accessible from Udaipur’s main tourist areas.
