How to Get to Farsala#
Farsala sits in Thessaly between Larissa and Karditsa and is best reached via Larissa railway station, which lies on the main Athens-Thessaloniki corridor. From Larissa you’ll take a short regional bus or taxi to Farsala.
Thessaloniki Airport (SKG): SKG is the main international gateway for Thessaly. From Thessaloniki take a KTEL coach or train to Larissa (about 1-1.5 hours, fares ~€8-€15) and then a local bus from Larissa to Farsala (about 30-40 minutes, ~€2-€5).
Volos / Nea Anchialos (VOL) / Nea Anchialos Airport (VOL approximate): The nearest smaller airport/airfield is at Volos/Nea Anchialos (flights are limited). From Volos or Nea Anchialos travel by bus or hire car to Farsala (roughly 45-75 minutes depending on route) - regional coaches and taxis are available.
Train: Larissa is the main rail hub on the Athens-Thessaloniki line; take an intercity train to Larissa then a regional bus to Farsala. Trains to Larissa are frequent and comfortable.
