Farafenni is reached overland from Banjul International Airport (BJL) by a sequence of taxis and shared minibuses. The North Bank and inland routes are served less frequently than the coastal corridor-expect a full-day trip from the capital area.
Banjul International Airport (BJL): Farafenni is reached from Banjul International Airport by road. From BJL you’ll travel overland through Serekunda and along the North Bank routes; airport taxis to the main towns take 20-40 minutes to exit the coastal area, followed by longer inland travel toward Farafenni.
Train: No passenger rail operates in The Gambia.
Bus: Long-distance shared minibuses and coaches connect the coast to Farafenni. Expect a multi-hour journey from Banjul/Serekunda; services are informal and can be slow-plan for stops and variable schedules.
