Getting There#

Most walkers begin from valley settlements near Panjakent and push into the range on multi-day loops. Exact start points vary with itinerary and logistics, so plan transport with your guide or host.

Best Time to Hike#

The walkable season in the Fann Mountains, Tajikistan is generally from mid June to early September, with July and August giving the most reliable trail conditions. Early and late season trips risk snow on higher passes and colder nights.

There are no widespread formal hut booking systems for the main circuits, but book village guesthouses or guided trips in high season. Expect afternoon thunderstorms at times, rapid weather changes and the usual alpine hazards on high passes.
