About Fainu#

Fainu is an inhabited island in Raa Atoll in the Maldives, part of the northern atoll chain of the country. The island forms one of the local administrative islands within the atoll and is located among the atoll’s lagoon and reef system.

As with other inhabited Maldivian islands, Fainu is low-lying and surrounded by coral reef; local transport between islands is typically by boat. The island is part of the dispersed settlement pattern of the Maldives where communities are located on individual small islands.
