Estadio de La Cartuja is a multiuse stadium on Isla de La Cartuja in Seville, Andalusia, opened in 1999 and known for hosting large athletics and entertainment events. It was completed in time for the 1999 IAAF World Championships in Athletics and remains one of Andalusia’s principal large venues.

The venue is configured for athletics, football, and concerts and can be adapted for different stage and seating arrangements. It has hosted international athletics, national cup finals, and large-scale concerts, accommodating audiences in the tens of thousands depending on configuration. The stadium complex includes auxiliary facilities for media and VIPs used during major events.

Construction finished in 1999 to provide Seville with a modern, multipurpose arena; since then it has been used intermittently for major sporting fixtures and cultural events rather than as the permanent home of a single club. The site has undergone updates and maintenance aligned with event requirements.

The stadium sits on the north bank of the Guadalquivir within Seville’s Isla de La Cartuja industrial and exhibition zone, a few kilometres north of the historic centre of Seville. Event parking and city transport connections are available for large events.

• On matchdays or for concerts plan to arrive at least 60-90 minutes before the scheduled start and use public transport or park‑and‑ride options-traffic on Isla de la Cartuja becomes heavy and local access roads can be congested.
