Epcot
Amusement Park Disney park focused on technology showcases and world pavilions
Epcot pairs themed pavilions representing countries with future-focused attractions; visitors sample international cuisine in the World Showcase, attend seasonal festivals, and ride technology-driven attractions.
Epcot is a theme park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida that opened on October 1, 1982. The park was conceived to celebrate international culture and technological innovation and is organized into a curated international area and a themed innovation area.
Visitors encounter two principal experiences: World Showcase, which comprises 11 country pavilions offering national cuisine, shops, and performances around a central lagoon, and the reimagined Future World neighborhoods (World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature) focused on technology, nature, and storytelling. The park mixes permanent cultural exhibits with rotating seasonal festivals.
Epcot was developed as Walt Disney World’s park emphasizing global culture and human achievement; it has undergone multiple updates and a recent multi-year reimagining of its original Future World concept.
Epcot is located within the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, adjacent to Disney resorts and other theme parks in the complex.

How to Get to Epcot #
Epcot is on the Walt Disney World Resort campus in Lake Buena Vista, reached via World Drive inside the resort. If driving, follow I‑4 to the Walt Disney World exits and then World Drive, following signs for Epcot; on‑site parking is available in the Epcot parking lot with a short walk to the main entrance. Guests staying on Disney property can also use Disney buses and other internal transportation services that stop at Epcot.
Tips for Visiting Epcot #
- Enter Epcot via the International Gateway if you're staying at the Crescent Lake resorts or using the Skyliner - that entrance usually has shorter queues and immediate access to World Showcase.
- Arrive at park opening and target either Remy's Ratatouille or Guardians of the Galaxy (depending on which attractions are your priority) during the first hour; World Showcase typically becomes busier later in the day when pavilions and restaurants open.
- Many visitors concentrate on Future World first and miss quiet corners and live demonstrations in individual World Showcase pavilions - plan to explore the pavilions in the late afternoon and evening when the atmosphere and entertainment ramp up.
