About Emba Soira

Emba Soira is the highest mountain in Eritrea, rising to about 3,018 metres above sea level. Its summit is the country’s topographic high point.

The mountain offers highland scenery and long distance views from the summit on clear days; outdoor activities are largely limited to hiking and local visits rather than developed tourist services. There are no major visitor facilities at the summit and routes are rural and sometimes rough.
