Edworthy Park Park

An urban park in Calgary, Alberta, located on the northwest bank of the Bow River and managed by the City of Calgary. The park provides riverfront green space within the city.

A network of multi-use trails, picnic sites and open green spaces that are popular for walking, cycling and informal recreation along the river corridor. River access and viewpoints make it a local destination for short outings and dog walking.

The park is part of Calgary’s river valley network of parks established and maintained by municipal authorities to protect riparian green space and provide recreational access for residents.

Situated a few kilometres west of downtown Calgary along the Bow River, the park is accessible from adjacent neighbourhoods and city pathways.

Edworthy Park is accessible from Calgary’s west side-take Sarcee Trail or the neighbourhood roads off 17 Avenue SW; parking is available near the main trailheads. The park connects to the city’s Bow River pathway system for easy cycling access.

• Follow the river path upstream for quieter sections and better birdwatching; the main picnic areas are nearer the parking lot and get busy on warm days.
• The off-leash dog area is popular-avoid if seeking solitude on weekends.
• There are short interpretive trails that explain the river's history and early settler sites which many visitors miss.
