How to Get to Ebetsu
Ebetsu sits just east of Sapporo on Hokkaido's plain and is easiest reached via Sapporo's airport and rail connections. New Chitose Airport is the main international gateway; from there most visitors travel to Sapporo then transfer by JR Hakodate Main Line to Ebetsu Station.
New Chitose Airport (CTS): Take the JR Rapid Airport (快速エアポート) from New Chitose to Sapporo Station (about 37-40 minutes, typically ¥1,150). From Sapporo transfer to the JR Hakodate Main Line for Ebetsu Station (about 15-20 minutes, roughly ¥260-¥300). Okadama Airport (OKD): Okadama is a small domestic airport serving Sapporo. There is no direct rail link - take a city bus or taxi to Sapporo (bus ~25-35 minutes, city-bus fares around ¥210-¥250; taxi ~20-30 minutes, roughly ¥2,500-¥4,000 depending on traffic), then change to the JR Hakodate Main Line for Ebetsu (15-20 minutes, ~¥260-¥300).

Local fares within Ebetsu are typically around ¥200-¥300; intercity buses to Sapporo can take 30-60 minutes depending on route and cost roughly ¥300-¥1,000 depending on distance and service.
