East Potomac Park is an urban park and elongated peninsula in Washington, D.C., lying between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel and notable for its recreational facilities and waterfront views.

The park contains open lawns, picnic areas, a public golf course, a public pool, and Hains Point at its southern tip, and it is commonly used by walkers, cyclists and recreational boaters. It has paved paths and a scenic loop that is often used for exercise and casual outings rather than remote recreation.

The land was formed and developed in the early 20th century through river-channel and dredging works and has been managed as a public park since then, with facilities added and maintained by federal agencies over the 20th century.

Located immediately south of the Tidal Basin and the National Mall, the park lies within the District of Columbia and is a short drive or bike ride from downtown Washington, D.C.

  • Management: Managed by the U.S. National Park Service as part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, the park is an urban green space rather than a wilderness area.
