Duyun is well connected to Guiyang and the rest of Guizhou by high-speed rail and intercity buses - trains are often the most comfortable and reliable option for regional travel.
Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (KWE): Guiyang is the nearest major international airport serving Guizhou province. From Guiyang you can reach Duyun by high-speed train or long-distance bus; driving takes about 1.5-2 hours by road depending on service and route. Car rentals and intercity taxis are available at the airport.
Duyun Airport (if available for regional flights): Duyun previously had limited regional air services - check current flight schedules, as most travellers use Guiyang for reliable connections.
Train: Duyun is served by rail (including high-speed services) on routes connecting Guiyang with southern Guizhou and Guangxi. High-speed trains from Guiyang to Duyun typically take around 45-90 minutes; fares commonly range from CNY 20-80 depending on class and service.
Bus: Regular intercity buses link Guiyang and Duyun and serve smaller towns in Guizhou; journey times by express bus are generally around 1-2 hours and fares are typically modest (RMB tens).

For most travellers the high-speed train from Guiyang is the best balance of speed and cost. Use buses and taxis for shorter regional links and local travel within Duyun.
- High-speed train (CNY 20-80) - High-speed services connect Duyun with Guiyang and other regional hubs. Trains are fast, punctual and comfortable; typical trip time from Guiyang is under two hours. Book via China Railway (12306) and aim for second-class seats for best value.
- Intercity bus (CNY 15-60) - Buses connect Duyun to nearby towns and Guiyang; they are frequent and cheap but can be slower than trains depending on traffic. Use reputable ticket offices at terminals and allow extra time in busy periods.
